Dominant Roles and Titles
Below is a list of roles and titles that Dominants can use. BUT REMEMBER one of the main tenets of BDSM and Power Dynamics is to do what feels right for you and your partner. There are people in the lifestyle who have firm beliefs that a “Goddess” is not a “real” role while others thrive in it. In the end, it doesn’t matter what other people believe, it only matters what you and your partner(s) think. When having conversations with partners or potential partners, define your terms. DO NOT ASSUME that when you tell someone you are a “Mommy Domme” that you are all talking about the same thing. One person could be talking about a nurturing Domme while the other is talking about age play. Define as you go.

Mistress / Master
A Dominant who consensually takes ownership of someone they are in a relationship with, or a dominant/top who sees themselves as a “master” of a dynamic or skill. It is one of many titles a female Dominant can choose and its meaning varies depending on the person who uses it.
I”Mistress” can mean the feminine version of “Master”; a Dominant who takes on an ownership role over a submissive, often referred to as a slave, in a Mistress/slave (M/s) dynamic. This type of power exchange can be more structured and intense than a standard Dominant/submissive (D/s) relationship. BUT it is important to know that many people do not see a difference between M/s and D/s. I, myself, flow between the titles depending on the setting we are in.
